Facebook stalking: How to keep your profile safe from creepers

Password-protect your account

The first step to Facebook privacy is to password-protect your account. This will prevent anyone who doesn’t have your password from being able to access your account. You can do this by going to the ‘Settings tab on Facebook and selecting ‘Security.’ Then, under ‘Account Security,’ select ‘Change Password.’ Next, enter your new password twice and click ‘Save Changes.’ Now, anytime you log in to Facebook, you’ll need to enter your password before gaining access.

Suppose you’re looking for even more protection against stalkers. In that case, there are also a few mobile apps designed to prevent strangers from accessing your phone and social media accounts if they get lost or stolen. These include Face Crop (iOS) and AppLocker (Android). With these apps installed on your phone, no one else can open or navigate around the app without entering a PIN code first. If someone finds your phone and tries to get into it without the correct pin code, they’ll only see a blank screen!

Block suspicious profiles in advance

There are some proactive ways to protect your profile from Facebook stalkers:

  1. Add people you are friends with in real life to your Friends List. Only people you trust can see your posts.
  2. Review your privacy settings to ensure that only friends can view your posts and personal data.
  3. If you receive a friend request from someone you do not know, refuse to accept it.

If you notice a suspicious profile following your account, block them immediately. However, it would be best if you also thought twice about what you posted. You Should limit how much personal information you post to your profile. Contact a friend or an authority for assistance if you feel unsafe on Facebook.

Many social websites provide the ease of posting articles.

Unfriend them as soon as possible

If you have a stalker on Facebook, the best thing you can do is unfriend them as soon as possible. It will remove them from your list of friends, and they will no longer be able to see any of your information. If you’re unsure who your stalker is, look at your recent activity to see who’s been looking at your profile the most. If you still can’t figure it out, try blocking them.

Lock Your Profile

You can lock your Facebook profile to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your personal information. If you lock your profile, only your friends can view the content you posted. This also prevents them from downloading your cover photo or profile picture. To lock your profile, you must have a Facebook account. When your profile is locked, no one will be able to view your updates or photos, so you can feel safe knowing that no one can access your profile.
