Contrary to expectations, therefore, Rolex has preserved the aesthetics of the dial of the outgoing Air-King 116900 model, often criticized by enthusiasts for its lack of connection with the history of the collection with the Bloodhound SSC-inspired dial as the main “offender”. On the contrary, the designers of the brand have not touched the layout in the least, but have instead brought substantial interventions to the cashier, now equipped with protective shoulders like the pure sportsmen of the family.
What changes between the new Air-King 126900 and Rolex Air-King 116900?
We talked about the new caliber, and it was pretty obvious that Rolex would update the movement by aligning the new model with the current generation of sportsmen. The case is different both for the presence of the protective shoulders and for the thickness; in addition, the profile is different and together with the thickness of the case aims to significantly improve the wearability of the watch. Rolex presents three new versions of the Rolex Datejust 31 with dials decorated with floral motifs. The new motif features 24 different flowers that take on a specific shade depending on the version.
