Is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night a worthwhile game to play?

Check here the review of bloodstained

The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a Metroidvania-styled video game published by 505 Games and developed by Japanese indie studio ArtPlay. The name ‘Metroidvania’ is now used to describe just about any open-world platformer, yet it formerly referred to a very specific thing: the non-linear Castlevania games created under the guiding apparition of Koji Igarashi.

It eventually grew into something much bigger. But Igarashi’s take on this method has a distinct taste that few other games have.

Unfortunately, declining sales returns on the Castlevania series drove Igarashi away from the franchise and, eventually, his departure from Konami. It’s impossible to determine whether or not another Castlevania game will ever be released in that style.

Fortunately, a game’s talent is usually more important than its branding.

Igarashi was tasked with creating a new Metroidvania, which he eagerly accepted. When he turned to Kickstarter to find a way to fund it.

Many of these novels have unsatisfactory or even terrible endings, but Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night appears to have mostly gone as planned.

To be sure, there have been a few bumps in the road. It was originally scheduled to be released in 2017, but it was released in 2019.

Switch edition VS. PC Edition of Game

The Switch edition of the game was released in a sad state. A few previously intended features had to be changed. However, the most important objective was attained.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a fantastic game that is similar to the Castlevania games that Igarashi used to create.

Many of his collaborators from those games are related to him on this one, which helps a lot. It should be served in a way that looks and sounds right.

While it comes across as a little overstuffed at times, I don’t think anyone who enjoyed titles like Symphony of the Night or Aria of Sorrow will be disappointed by Ritual of the Night.

Between Bloodstained on the PC and Bloodstained on the Switch, there’s a world of difference. Despite the fact that a lot of effort was put into the latter.

That said, I feel the Switch port is largely responsible for the mobile version’s longevity. On mobile, Ritual of the Night resembles Nintendo’s account more than it does any other.

3D models have a more novice appearance, and the visual effects follow suit. The framerate is also fairly consistent, which may be a challenge for some.

When you take a closer look, you’ll notice that the mobile version is actually superior in certain ways. The Switch version has a lot of input lag, while the mobile version is significantly faster.

This makes the game a lot more playable right away. This isn’t a particularly difficult game, but it’s great to avoid missing jumps due to pause.

Pros And Cons of Game

It’s a control game that was never meant to be played on a mobile device. Which, as is often the case, translates to a jumble of useful buttons.

This is something that happened in the mobile version of Symphony of the Night, and if you couldn’t handle the touch controls then, I doubt you’ll be able to handle them here. You can’t even move the buttons around, which is a real pain.

Magic attacks can also be difficult to cope with since they frequently need planning.

You can play with a compatible controller in some ways, but you’ll need to use the touch screen for some menu selections and activities. Read full review of bloodstained on Dunkgaming.
